Following the completion of his Master degree in Industrial Psychology (1976) from the University of Leuven, Georges Taels started to work as a psychologist in a HR consultancy firm in Maastricht (Adviesbureau Dr. J.L. Herold).
In 1978, Georges Taels started working for Wilma, as an HR officer. He then moved to the Districtsgezondheidsdienst in Maastricht, as an Industrial psychologist, working for local government.
In 1985, he moved to GITP, a Holland based HR consultancy firm. He worked in Breda for 5 years, and then created subsidiaries in Belgium (1990) and was Managing Director Belgium until 2005. From that moment on, he acts as a consultant and is at the same time responsible for the international network of GITP. He manages the international projects of GITP within Europe, Asia, and the US.
Georges Taels always has been active in the domain of the ‘evaluation and development of people’s competences’. He believes the HR policy and systems should be aligned with the overall strategy of the company. At that condition, the human factor most certainly can make the difference.
